19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first title for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has had a torrid year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is his maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's retrieving strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play positively, supported by an improved serving game.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the final five points to take the lead.

The pair traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

He defended 4 early chances in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner secured the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
